Red Orange Misty Glowing Object
Over Columbus, Nebraska

I am writing in reference to the July 4th sighting in North Bend, Nebraska. We had a similar sighting in Columbus Nebraska which is located 30 miles west of North Bend. I submitted our story to Nuforc.org. You can read it here.

Since posting this story, I checked the weather history and the wind was blowing the wrong direction that night for this to have been a lantern. If you check the wind direction for North Bend at the time of that sighting, I believe the same is true.
Also, after reading all the Nebraska Reports on that night, one can see that 11 reports were submitted. Certainly above average for Nebraska. Even more interesting is that all, but one of the reports are from communities along the Platte River - all seeing something similar.

I don't know what we saw. I too am not a UFO enthusiast and am having a difficult time finding a rational explanation for what we saw. Any ideas?
