Orange Red Discs Observed Toward
Middlesbrough/Corus, UK
Date: August 18, 2010
Time: Approx: 9:30 p.m.
Hi Brian, I'm currently working round Redcar and Cleveland borough
(I live in Derbyshire) and am staying in digs at Redcar.
On Wednesday night of this week I'd been to the shop at approx: 21:30,
give or take 15 minutes and on returning to the B&B found my landlord
on the front porch (facing toward Middlesbrough/Corus) looking at
lights that sound similar to others sightings. He said he'd seen 4
or 5 go over and I myself saw one go over, then another one appear
from the horizon and proceeded to fly overhead. At first it looked
like a Chinese lantern, but this idea was soon rejected.
From below they looked like a round orangey/red disc, but with a wide
angle light shining from the front (verified by the fact that the
light disappeared once they had gone overhead). There were no flashing
lights, or beacons, and the movements were very strange. They seemed
quite quick, but rather than a totally linear trajectory seemed to
stall, move sideways and then carry on overhead - the strange thing
about the sideways movement was that there seemed to be no change
in direction of the forward facing light.
When directly overhead there was a very quiet noise similar to a jet
engine, but quieter than expected, as they were obviously not at a
great altitude due to the cloud cover.
I'm sure there's a simple explanation (or maybe not), but I'm intrigued
nonetheless.
Happy hunting.
