Orange Yellow Lights Over Elgin, Illinois

Time: Approx: 9:15 - 9:30pm-ish

Hi Brian, my boyfriend and I saw something similar last night on the 4th of July, 2010, around 9:15/9:30pm-ish

Moving toward the North West, we saw one orangish light flying across the sky, really fast. Then we saw a second one coming from the same area, it flew really fast toward the first, got really close, and then backed off a bit and continued across the sky, in the same straight path. Then a third appeared and then a forth. All moving really fast following the same path. They made no sound, and they disappeared/faded into the clouds in the same location. We thought they might be helicopters but they made no sound. I thought the orangish-yellow light looked like a fire from an air balloon, but they were moving way too fast. They crossed the whole sky in less than a minute.

We laughed and said “If aliens were to check us out it’d probably be on the 4th of July with all the fireworks in the sky, wondering what the heck is going on down there?" LOL
