Glowing Red Lights Over Irvine Ayrshire Scotland

Time: Evening.

Hello, my name (name removed) and upon seeing strange lights floating in the sky over my house, I started looking into what caused it and found your site. What I have seen is, fairly large red glowing lights moving at a speed that doesn't consist with an aeroplane or helicopters speed. It seemed to slow down, almost stopping over a large playing field area next to my house. As I watched for a bit longer, two more appeared and as they did, the first one disappeared in to nothing.

There were no clouds in the sky, but somehow it managed to evaporate into thin air. The lights flickered somewhat, like a plane, but you could tell by the way they moved, that they were not, accelerating then decelerating moving up and down vertically then flying away. The strangest thing is that Britain is currently under a no flying ban, implemented because of the volcano in Iceland (I'm sure you have heard). So why then am I seeing these things? If you know anything that could help me understand this, please let me know.
